Kid's World Playground

Kid's World in Alameda Park is Santa Barbara's largest playground and has been a family destination for generations. The 8,000-square-foot wooden playground is designed for children ages 2 to 12 and features a castle, swings, and slides. 

Kid's World was built in 1993 by hundreds of community volunteers under the direction of Leathers and Associates, a company renowned for its imaginative playground structures. Volunteers lent their support to build the playground in just one week. Santa Barbara locals and the children playing in the park were crucial contributors to the playground's design. Tiles painted with the handprints of children who helped plan and build the park now surround the structure. 

The playground was fully renovated in 2018 to meet accessibility and building codes.
