Adapted Programs and Inclusion Services
The Adapted Recreation Program gives people with special needs the opportunity to travel, play, compete, and network in a safe and supportive environment that fosters a positive experience for anyone participating in our many programs. By meeting with and assessing the abilities of each child or adult who requests our services, we are able to provide the most positive and beneficial service we can offer. We want all who participate to have fun, learn new skills, get fit and interact with new and old friends alike.
Inclusion Support for Parks and Recreation Programs
While the Adapted Recreation Program offers programs specifically designed for individuals with disabilities, there are those who prefer to join other sports and recreation activities offered by the Parks and Recreation Department.
It is the goal of the Adapted Program's assessment team to plan for reasonable and appropriate program accommodations for a positive recreational experience. This may or may not include extra supervision provided by an inclusion support staff.
In order to allow sufficient time for consultation between staff, assessment of the individual, evaluation of activity, level of supervision required, and provision of staff, please ensure that you request accommodations within the medical waiver section while registering for activities.
