All SBPL locations will be closed on Monday, September 1 for Labor Day.
We are working on economic and public safety response time analysis. Our next City Council meeting on the State Street Master Plan is anticipated in September 2025.
This 14,600 square foot skatepark is located along the waterfront. Features include a half-pipe, rails, fun boxes, and other skating elements. Helmets and elbow and knee pads are required at all times. Admission is free.
This program is in memory of four young men: Rypkin Murphy, Kirby Thorsell, Alec Hardy, and Avery Diamond, to promote emotional support and safety among skaters.
Alec tragically lost his life to a traumatic brain injury while skateboarding. Unfortunately, Alec was not wearing his helmet when he fell and hit his head. Thanks to the donations in these young men's names, the City is able to provide extra camp scholarships and educate camp participants about the importance of wearing a helmet.
View a message from Alec’s mother, Kirsten Jepsen:
Doctor Travis Mellon, MD came out to Skate Camp to talk about the importance of wearing a helmet:
